The y left Liverpool on the Letitia (Anchor-Donaldson Steamship) and landed at New York on route to Cincinatti, Ohio. They were not required to go through Ellis Island because they were 'extra quota' due to Roberts professional standing. They were sponsored into the country by Senator Longworth and his wife, Alice, daughter of President Theodore Roosevelt.1
