Also, the christening date of this child printed in the Leek Parish Register book (FHL book# 942.46, B4pr, v.13) gives an incorrect christening date of 9 Feb 1642/1643. According to the original Parish Register of Leek (FHL film # 1040765) this child was actually christened on 9 Feb 1641/1642. However, previous LDS ordinance work for this child--done in the 1920's--used the incorrect christening date of 1642/1643, and also identified the child as 'Mr. Brough.' Therefore, for the sake of consistency and LDS ordinance work, this child is listed as a 'male' on this family group record.1

Edmund Brough is probably the individual who was buried in Leek on 13 March 1686/1687.

The LDS Ordinance Index contains a listing for Edmund Brough, born 'about 1615' in 'Waterhouse, Stafford, England.' This listing was submitted by Samuel R. Brough--a former LDS missionary to the British Isles during 1886-1890--who apparently identified, estimated, and performed LDS ordinance work for Edmund Brough in the 1920's. This may be the same Edmund Brough as the one that now appears on this family group record.1
