Sue NORTON told me that the will mentioned properties in Park Lane, Macclesfield, rented to Samuel WORTHINGTON & Samuel RYDER, and from the rents, profits etc. of these properties, he charged his appointed Trustees (John JACKSOn & John FISHER) to raise 270 pounds to be paid out to his younger children as follows (not in order of birth): Abell RATHBONE, 40 pounds Olive, the wife of John THOMPSON, 40 pounds Edna, the wife of the Rev. Marriage License*20 November 1801 She and John Thompstone obtained a marriage license on 20 November 1801; The bond shows that John Thompstone of the parish of Gawsworth, Samuel Hill, Peter Fowles of Macclesfield in the Parish of Prestbury were bound in the sum of £500 on the 20 November 1801 that there was no lawful impediment to the marriage. John appeared in person and made allegation that he was of the age of twenty-one and upwards and a widower and intended to marry Olive Rathbone of the parish of Gawsworth aged twenty-one years and upwards and a spinster. The licence was for the marriage to be solemnized in the Parish Church of Gawsworth.1

(Witness) Will31 March 1846 Olive Rathbone witnessed the will of John Thompstone and Josiah Thompstone on 31 March 1846 at Underbank, Gawsworth, Cheshire, England, ; He bequeathed all his household goods and furniture, horses, cattle and other effects on the farm and also his money, securities and all other estate unto his sons Josiah and Isaac Thompstone, upon trust providing that his wife Olive Thompstone was to have use and enjoy the said farming stock etc., during the term of her natural life. To permit her to carry on the farming business which was his wish she should do so. Olive paying the rent and outgoings of the said farm by keeping the same number of cattle. An inventory was to be made after his decease to show what remained at the time of his decease. He required his trustees to place out at interest all such sums of money which he be posessed at the time of his decease and to pay and apply the dividend, interest and proceeds thereof to his wife for the term of her natural life. Upon the decease of his wife the trustees were required to make a true and just valuation of all farming stock and effects and other estate by some competent person. His son Josiah was to have the option of purchasing at the sum valued and paying within twelve months of his wifes death. Josiah was bequeathed the sum of £100 out of his personal estate and the sum of £50 to his daughter Rhoda rawlinson, the wife of William Rawlinson of Gawsworth; to his daughter Edna Thompstone the sum of £50 and to his sonFrancis Thompstone the sum of £50. Any residue of his personal estate shall be divided into five parts or shares and he bequeathed the same to his said son Josiah Thompstone, his said daughter Rhoda Rawlinson, his said daughter Edna Thompstone, his said son Francis Thompstone and his daughter Elen Booth the wife of Hugh Booth of Macclesfield, buthcher equaly to be divided between them. If Josiah did not take up the option then the farm was to be sold by auction or private contract or by both. The monies raised by such auction after payments of debts to be divided equally amongst the said five children already mentioned. He appointed Josiah THompstone and Isaac Thompstone executors of his will. John did not mention all his children in his will omitting Nathan, Phoebe, Joseph and John. 
Note*17 September 1847 Olive Rathbone The Tithe Apportionment for Gawsworth showed Olive as the occupier of the land and the Right Hon. Earl Harrington as the land owner. She had a total of 129 acres, 3 roods and 8 perches. The total sum of rent charged which was aportioned upon several lands and payable to the Rector was £18-16-11. Her land consisted of arable, meadow and pasture as follows:
